If you can't get the deal you want on a KTM, maybe you can get one on a Buell...

All the Ducati's made the 1290SDR possible!

You know, of course, that your KTM dealer in Costa Mesa has that SMR up on Ebay? 7 days left unless someone goes for the buy it now. I forget, did they also have just a plain SM too?

Yep, that is the one.  It is the same dealerships other store that has the SD that I am also looking at.  Not really sure if they have a regular SM or not, as I never asked.  So what are your thoughts on the R?  Was just reading a write up where they were talking about the 990SMs.  They keep saying that the 950 was a great bike, and VERY smooth, but no where near as insane feeling as the 990 simply due to the larger engine being a good bit more powerful.  Not really sure, but I think that extra bit of lunacy would be nice to have.  Wink

I was just thinking that if they had a regular SM at a good price that it might be a way to go as you'd have extra money for mods plus the stock capacity fuel tank.  It you're stuck on the SD then go for it. I don't mind either way as long as I get to take whichever one wins around Tantalus.  Grin  chug

Not to worry, as you will get more than one crack on whichever bike I go with.  But I have to say that even though I think I will probably go for the SD, I imagine the SMR would crush all going up Tantalus!

Wouldn't it be something if we could run tests on what ever and how many bikes we could ever wish for to shake out the King Bike of Tantalus?  [moto]  Evil

How much of a factor would license survivability play into this evaluation?

Well, the SMR isn't going to happen.  Shop called me this morning to tell me that someone stopped by as they were closing up yesterday and put a deposit on it.

That could possibly fall into the category of "You snooze, you lose".

Yep, and that is exactly what happened.  I was talking with one sales guy who said he would hold it for me overnight, but apparently did not tell the other sales guys this...

Like I said on Sunday though, I knew these bikes would sell pretty quickly in So Cal.
