I was the highest bidder when he posted it as a bid yesterday... but apparently this was his reserve...got a second chance offer with this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270512635257&ssPageName=ADME:X:SCO:MOTORS:1123#ht_500wt_1182

it's yours if you want it!

Buy it now price of $27000??!!   Shocked Shocked

What is this guy smoking?  Especially when you can get a brand new 1198S, with Termis, for under that price.  Kind of funny how he says they are all sold out, even though SS has a few left in the crate...

He says "I consider myself very reliable" and he's selling it because "this is what I do".  Hey, if he can sucker somebody into paying 27k for that, then good for him.  I assume that's what he means by the "This is what I do" deal.  twat.

Darkwing knows the guy better than I do. Not a bad bike at all, depending on how he had the paintwork done. The bike is definitely not abused. May PM you on it.

Yea, I have (sort of) known Rich for a couple of years, and he works in the same building as I do.  I know he doesn't ride the bike all that much, and goes really easy on it when he does ride it.  One thing to keep in mind though, it has been down before, and it suffered some damage (mostly cosmetic) to the left side.  The trans also got stuck in second gear when it went down as well.  Just wanted to make sure that you know the gouge on the bike before you put an offer on it, assuming that you do...

You think maybe 12K considering the extended warranty and all? The left side damage was very low speed wasn't it? Like barely above parking lot speed?

Thanks for the heads up Darkwing - i think 13.5 is high but yea, 12 is more reasonable - the coverage is nice to have, but i wonder what the warranty would do about the bike having been downed before...

sucks really, i keep finding great bikes but theyve all be low speed downed on one or another side... i'd like to get a clean bike without having to get a new one... I'm still curious about the hypermotard 796 - i dont think there are any in stock yet, but i want one, and i suck at waiting haha....

I don't think the low speed down will affect the warranty in any way. You could check with Will on that one but in this case it's all very minor. Gives you some leverage but in actual fact this bike wasn't hurt bad at all.

All of the cosmetic damage on that bike was fixed, and it looks pretty good in person; if you can get past the fact that he tried to make it look like a 1098R.  And Mac is right, the bike was going very slow through a round-a-bout when it went down.  I cannot imagine that the extended warranty would be put into jeopardy at all by the that.

That 748 sure is sweet, and is at a really good price.  But if it was my money, I would have already bought that 848.

Oh yea, they apparently have the HM796 down at SS.
