Someone got a screaming deal on a 2010 1198...it was posted up on Craig's List yesterday for $7,000, with like 1500 miles, first service complete, warranty, and a new set of Pures...guy was deploying and needed a quick sale... Shocked

Easy now. The ad was up and now it's gone. We were talking about that ad today. Don't know if it was legit or not. The guy would have taken an 8 to 10,000 $ hit. Not too many deals like that come up. It may not have been real.

Total scam.  I called the guy 7 minutes after it was posted.  He was totally confused.  My bikes listed on CL?  WTF?  Obviously posted by a "freind" to F- with him.

makes sense...

I had a guy call up Sunday night and chatted me up for 10 mins or so on the 848. He says he's ridden dirt bikes and cruisers for 10 years and thinks he wants a sportbike. I don't know if he's ready for this bike. Says he'll think about it and talk to the wife. Wants to do something in the next couple of months.        Months.         To hell with that.         It'll cost him more by then.   laughingdp

Not that bad of a deal, but you can find them for less.  Those are the same guys that I was looking at buying the left over '07 SM from.  They wanted ridiculous money for that thing.  I even told them that I was looking at the SD for MUCH cheaper in California, but they still wouldn't budge on the price (they had it marked at $11000).  We all know how that one worked out.  Wink

They're up to 24.5K with 7 hours left to go and the reserve hasn't been met yet.  Pretty cool bike for sure.  Had to google it to find out all about it. Another one of those "if I only had the spare cash laying around" deals.
