It wasn't that bad. Met the guy this morning in Wisconsin. Took the bike for a spin and looked her over and brought her home. Ran great the whole way and damn do those boom tubes sound good. Nap time now. Will post pics later.

Question.  I noticed tonight when I was looking it over a little better that the rear shock rotates about 30 degrees back and forth (twists?) in its position. It doesn't have any lateral play, but the whole shock spins back and forth a bit if you grab and turn it. I am guessing this is not normal. How do I fix?

Other than that the bike runs and rides great. Need to get the suspension set up for me though, it is extremely stiff for my skinny ass.

Anybody need a set of bar risers? First thing I did was take them off when I got home, felt like I was riding with ape hangers on the way home  

I also got the original frame from the s4r that is presumably straight. I might have a winter project

The shock uses spherical bearings for mounts, so it will be able to rotate.  If there isn't any play otherwise you're fine.

Went to the DMV this morning. No problems.

What did you end up getting it titled as? An S2R or an S4R?
Did you need the separate VIN for engine and frame?

I'm not sure I've ever been at the DMV without a problem.

Now you can come over and adjust my valves just for practice.

the guy had already titled the bike in IL as an s2r 800 (frame). All I needed was the IL title and the engine number off the s4r, not the VIN, since the IL title didn't have that info on the title.

Makes the insurance cheaper 

as for adjusting your valves john, not sure you want me to do that, although I would love to learn.
