Thanks for the heads up and a special thanks to Ellingly for the great pics! waytogo

Scored an almost new rack and bag kit off a KTM for $250 from fleabay. Checked the Ventura site and yes the rack is the same part as the Monster.

Looks like I will be digging out the angle grinder and mig this week end so I can fit it up. waytogo

If you want some more specific pics, let me know and I'll dig them out. Will be stripping the bike pretty bare on Wed to clean it after the Bathurst run but can get pics earlier if needed.

Oh yeah, just thought of one more thing:

you may need to trim the inside of your side panels (if you still have them) where the long rail fixes onto the frame ... or you could take them off when you use the rack.
Double post but can't be arsed fixing it. I didn't need to do that on my S2R1k...

So is the Oberon to Goulburn road fully sealed yet? What do you reckon about Black Springs? Banjo land if I say!

Yeah it's all sealed. Well, there was a 1km section just north of Oberon that wasn't cause they were fixing up the road base (had all of the sealing stripped off the top).

Unsealed doesn't worry me though. I did Canberra->Crookwell->Tuena->Bathurst on Wednesday in the piss-pouring rain and that has 25km of unsealed stuff on it (none of the really gnarly stuff).

Last bike (which also had a Ventura rack; the aforementioned one I lived out of for a while when I moved here):

The Monster is far better on dirt than the gixxer was; lord knows I wouldn't want a multistrudel unless I wanted ugly.

As for banjo country: I grew up in Tasmania. Most of there is banjo country.

The problem with these racks is they look shit when your not using them. I'd consider getting one for touring if they are easy to install on and off. Matty how long does it take to fit them?

Yes, I was wondering how long it takes to fit these also. I think I would only put it on the bike for touring. Anyone able to give an approx fitting time? Thanks.
