Twin headlight

I realise this has possibly been done before, though this kit looks new:

Has any one had any experience fitting it to a 02 S4 or similar?

I don't want to lose the fairing, just fit the twin lights under it.... ugly gaps or likely success?

Nice looking kit, but a lot of ugly wires and junk hiding behind that stock, round headlight.  With enough determination, I would guess (guess is the key work in this sentence) you can make it fit, but I would, at least, plan on doing some more cosmetic work behind it.

Very good point.  I did the twin headlight thing and there is a massive space above the lights that bugged me.  I fabbed a piece of textured abs (used in stereo installs) and mounted it behind the lights.  I was lucky enough because the headlights had a mounting groove on the back that I used a captive nut on.  I'll take some pics if needed.

Yeah I have been thinking about going with the twin headlight option as well because I heard through the grapevine that it was difficult to install HID lighting on the standard headlight used. Any insight?

one thing to consider is that that "kit" pictured has this note underneath it....

"Lights sold individually and without mounts."

I'm assuming that means each light is $195, so your looking at ~$400 for both lights?

Thanks for the advice guys.  On top of the probable price blow out, I haven't got a reply to my inquiry so.... it looks like the old style tin/metal lights will do the job.

Regarding the wiring loom and connectors taking up lots of space and being messy, isn't this issue avoidable as I have the fairing and so can hide the wiring under the instrument cluster and out fo sight from sideways as the fairing does the rest?

Any pics of duals with the standard bikini fainring would be appreciated, I am hesitant to get the light unit until I see how it has fitted/integrated with the original fairing....  cheers.

Not sure if this helps you or not, but below is a picture of the party behind my headlight.  Even with some routing and tucking, it is still a bunch of loose shit that isn't noticed because it gets smushed behind a 7+ inch (i think) diameter headlight.  Replace that with two 3+inch diameter lights and there are gonna be a serious gap above center of the two (and stuff hanging below).  The gauges will hide from the cockpit view and the fairings will hide from the side, but head on is where it will be visible.  Honestly, I don't know how visible things would be head on, I just thought it would be worth bringing to your attention before you slapped new lights on, stepped back to admire your work, and had one of those "ah make the beast with two backs" moments that all of us have experienced a time or two.

I don't have a fairing to cover anything up, but I recently installed a set of dual headlights.  I was able to be very clean with the wiring by using looms and zipties.  There is obviously a gap between the gauges and where the lamps come together, but having an all black bike helped me in this case.

Those lamps if indeed sold separately seem very expensive.  So far I am happy with the 5 3/4" set I got from Aztec8, though I wish the fork brackets were a little more substantial.

That's fine, it's exactly what I am looking for and sold from the UK and the US, so it's just a case of seeing which has the best rate conversion and shipping rates.

My only question now is: where can I find a pic of the twin headlights installed with a standard bikini fairing - how well do they integrate together?
