Bling is easy just buy it and bolt on.

But the Deatail is more for the severely retarded

And for the untrained eye these pictures will mean little.

But the experts will pic the nickle plated bolts, pins cap screws,
chain adjusters , nuts etc.
Not to forget the titanium bleed nipples and bango bolts.
and various s/s cap screws.
As the stadard zinc plating washes off after about 5 years and looks crap :'(
All of which can be bought in titanium or s/s, alloy.
but very expensive.
I have bought a home plating kit and do it at home piece at at time very cheap.Nickle is like chrome and will last for ever.

supersprox stealth chainring, steel outer teeth, aluminium carrier. the mx guys are on them these days too.

gold for the M series, the S series gets black outer/alloy carrrier.

they also have tabs to stop the cush washers reversing into the hub/eccentric.

theres two types that i know of the first is using a cathode and anode and running a currant through the solution the second one is just ad what you want electroplated and heat the chemicals do the rest but interested in which one rob used whether it a caswell kit or a jane kit or another that i havent heard of

Hey paul depends what you call messy.
 I don't think it is that bad you just need a small work bench or even the kitchen will do but i like to leave it set up. so easy to do once you do a few trial runs and sort out the bugs.
 I take a few parts of to be plated when i get home from work just drop them in a small container of hydrochloric acid 10 minutes to strip the old plate.
and then plate them only takes 45 minutes.But the preparation of the parts are critical for final finish

Good point for those who are not sure on the tech specs on bolts
That's why i plated the high tensile bolts rather than buying the very costly titanium stuff.
 and use the s/s for the unimportant stuff.
