Holy crap, they're looking for $7500 canadian ($7282 US) for 2001 Monster 900.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ducati-Monster-/190900773221?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item2c7292a165#ht_500wt_1182

Reminds me of the 2000 M900Sie that was at a dealership in Cedar Rapids back in 2007... $7000 was ridiculous for an M900 even back then, especially one that needed all the belts and rubber doodads replaced due to neglect.  Roll Eyes  There were newer M1000's with better maintenance histories and tasty aftermarket stuff like CF pipes for ~$5k.

It's fugly... but if it runs and rides, at $1800 it's not a bad price for a thrash toy.  If it was closer, I'd seriously consider getting it and using it as my own track whore.  Would fix the ugliness that is the seat, strip all the crap graphics off and generally clean it up... but otherwise, it's looks like a perfectly viable track toy.  Hell... buying that and selling the CBR project, the bank account would probably come out ahead, and we'd have a better sounding bike!

Might be worth the road trip for a cheap track bike. One of the guys here picked this up in Maryland for a really good price. Paint job and seat were part of the package.

He picked it up for $2K with a salvage title. He's not sure if he's going to keep the Dr Seuss stuff yet.
