Foot operated clutch, hand operated gear shift.  This can make coming to a full stop for the less oriented in using this antiquated design rather suicidal.

Howie's right.  There were old Harleys and some Triumphs that were converted to that set up. I think the Harleys were adapted from Harley trikes where a foot operated clutch is not so nuts. Putting that set up on two wheels is the stuff of legend. There was even a Fabulous Freak Brothers cartoon with one of them going over on his side.

That someone built an Aprilia V4 in this fashion just leaves me shaking my head.

Yep.

Actually, it's pretty easy to do on any old foot-clutch Harleys. Basically defeat the clutch lock spring so the clutch engages if you take your foot off the clutch pedal and - presto - dangerous as hell.

Why is that on craigslist?

"Hey, Hun, there's no place for the Van Gogh in the new house. What do you want to do with it?"

"I dunno, just put it on craigslist, Babe."

"OK."
