Randy is a great, but I think if he fights Lesnar, he's in trouble.  Randy's game is all about control and the clinch.  He did well with Gonzaga, who's a big guy, but Lesnar is something else.  Randy will probably weigh in the 230's at fight time.  Lesnar could be in the 280's after everything.  Considering Lesnar's wrestling background, that's a lot to ask, even of Randy.

That being said.  I'm rooting for the Natural.

I agree with you Lesnar definitely fights at around 285 or 290.  That is a big difference for Couture.  Should be a good fight.  I reall don't care who wins.  Although I've always thought that Couture was a bit boring.  The fight against Gonzaga was not boring at all though.

Well,  looks like Lesnar is going to fight Couture in November. A win would be huge for Lesnar and a win for Couture would help bring him back in to the UFC (he signed a 3 fight deal).

I don't give Brock much of a chance but it should be a good fight for him to learn in.

WHAT?!   Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hmm..don't know about this one.  Of course, I'd like to see Couture win.

Tell that to Tim Sylvia, and see what he says.  Randy is all about crafting a gameplan to overcome his opponent's strengths and win.  If you watched the Couture/Sylvia fight, Randy controlled a MUCH larger and taller opponent for five rounds.  Granted, Brock Lesnar is no Tim Sylvia (in both good and bad ways).  Randy had much more trouble with Gonzaga (due to his explosiveness).  I think Lesnar's explosiveness will be something that Randy will have to neutralize.  Don't forget, Randy is one badass wrestler in his own right.  Of any heavyweight in the UFC now, I think Randy has the best bet of defending Brock's takedowns.  If it turns into a standup war, Lesnar is in trouble.

Evan Tanner is dead!!

A body believed to be former UFC middleweight champ Evan Tanner's was found on Monday in the Palo Verde mountain area in California after Tanner had gone missing in the area over the weekend.

Tanner, 37, had blogged ominously about his trip into the desert to "cleanse."

"I plan on going so deep into the desert, that any failure of my equipment, could cost me my life," he wrote on his journal for Spike TV.

A member of his management team told Yahoo! Sports, "What we were told is that (Sheriff's officials who found Tanner) believe his motorcycle had run out of gas, so he went to walk out in like 115- to 118-degree heat. He was miles away from his camp. That's where the helicopter found him. Right now, they just think that he succumbed to the heat."

Tanner made his MMA debut in April of 1997 winning three fights in one night, including a win over Paul Buentello. His biggest fight came in February of 2001 when he challenged then UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz in the main event of UFC 30 but was knocked out in just 32 seconds.

Tanner later moved down to 185 pounds and won the vacant UFC Middleweight Championship over David Terrell, but then lost the title in June of 2005 to Rich Franklin in a fight where the winner would also become one of the coaches for the 2nd season of "The Ultimate Fighter".

The UFC signed Tanner to a four fight contract last November with the first fight of that contract taking place earlier this year in March at UFC 82 in Columbus, Ohio. He lost by KO to Yushin Okami and then suffered another loss in June to Kendall Grove by split decision on the TUF 7 Finale show in Las Vegas.

I read that, as well.  RIP, at last, Evan.  He seemed to be a tortured person, over the last few years.  What a bummer.

Smart tactics.

B!tch moves are the guys that run away the whole fight.

True.  Runnig away the whole fight..seen a few of those..that is a b!tch move.

You can call the foot stomps and glove over the mouth a smart tactics but I call 'em dirty moves.  Why not just kick your opponent in the balls?!

Because in the UFC that's against the rules. Disrupting your opponets breathing is smart. Foot stomps not so much but they do get things moving sometimes.

It was like watching 2 oompa loompas fight.

Sherk would be an even bigger monster than he is now if he had 3 more inches of reach. Actually, I guess everyone would be better off if they had 3 extra inches.

Well, just about 2 and a half weeks until the Lesnar/Couture Fight.  I hope it lives up to the hype.  If you're interested there is a very good article at MMA Junkie about each fighters chances.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/13104/breaking-down-randy-couture-vs-brock-lesnar-from-fight-magazine.mma

Nice right up and agree a lot with his points.  Although,  I hope they stand--up and bang.  I would love to see more of Lesnar's stand-up.  He barely hit Herring and his face was destroyed in one punch.  Could be bad for Couture.

On, a side note;  Dana White invited Kimbo to be on the next TUF.  How disrespectful is that?  Gotta love the pres!
