Forrest is a brawler. He will go toe to toe with another brawler of the same skill level. That's not Silva. Poor Forrest.

Randy has definitely curbed Forrest's "brawler" instincts, but they are still there.  He has gotten a lot more technical, as shown in the Rampage fight, but isn't at the level of Silva.  Silva will be tough to prepare for, as well; it will be hard to find sparring partners who can replicate what Anderson does.

I love Forrest and think he has gotten much better and way more polished.  I really am just looking forward to seeing Silva at least be challenged by someone.  Forrest has to hit harder than anyone Silva has fought at Middleweight so there is at least the chance that he can hurt him, thats if he can actually hit him without getting KO'd.  Like I said though, this is really a no lose situation for Forrest so he won't be under a lot of pressure.  According to the article I read he agreed instantly to take the fight. You gotta love Forrest for his attitude and willingness to fight anyone anytime.

I think my friends and I are going to make this a road trip to Philly.  Penn/Florian is on this card too.

Can't say enough about Dana setting up great cards this summer.

Dana doesn't really set up the cards, bro.  He may take credit for it, but Joe Silva is the matchmaker.

Joe is the guy that makes the fight happen. Dana takes the credit if the fight lives up to the hype. If they don't then Joe gets to look bad.

What's the difference?   I'm sure Dana has at least a little something to do with the match ups.

I don't care who makes the matches or who takes credit.  I'm just excited about the upcoming summer.

The difference is that what you said was incorrect and inaccurate.  I just thought, since you're SUCH a fan, you would want to know how things actually work.

Dude, you really get pissy about this don't you?  I understand that you must KNOW way more than I do about the UFC and MMA in general.  I'm so sorry I expressed my opinion on something in which you never want to agree with me on.  I don't get why you have this general dislike for my views on MMA but its probably unwarranted.  I don't care who you like or dislike as fighters but I do like to read your comments on fights and matches for the simple fact that I tend to look at things differently than you do and I'm not always seeing what you see.  Sure I don't practice MMA or know everything, but I do like to learn and appreciate others opnions.  In fact I've really come to appreciate some of the smaller points of MMA just by you and a couple other members posts.

I DO know who Joe Silva is and I know what he does.  Does it really make a huge difference that I was giving props to Dana for the upcoming matches?  I'm pretty sure he has some imput to Joe on what matches he wants, especially in a match like this where Silva is jumping a weight class to fight one of the other faces of the company.

Yeah, I am SUCH a fan. MMA is my second favorite sport. Does that mean that I have to know every little detail and be correct all the time?  I don't think so but I guess you do.  I think you think I am one of these guys who walk around in Affliction shirts that are 2 sizes too small and act like I am a fighter and know everything about the sport.  Trust me I'm not.  Last time I went to an UFC event they actually had shirts that just had a plain UFC logo that I really liked but didn't get for the simple fact that a lot of douches wear UFC/Fight shirts.  I understand that we might disagree on what fighters we like or even what aspects of MMA we enjoy the most but I would appreciate it if you could maybe cut me a little slack. This is my favorite thread on this forum, I love talking and learning about MMA, and I don't think that is to much to ask.

That reply is too long for me to read. I have a very short attention span. I can just picture Sinister doing his evil laugh while he reads it.

Dude, if MMA is your second-favorite sport, you need to GTFO of this thread.  Seriously, though, no need to go nuts.  I was passing on information.  Your "opinion" misconstrued a fact of how the promotion works.  I was only offering the correct information.  That's what the internet is for: telling other people they are wrong. laughingdp

Okay, okay, okay.  I get the picture.  I won't post in this thread anymore. Cry

I'll admit sometimes I read into things a little to much.  I guess that is the problem with written communication though right?

Thanks for at least lightening up the situation.  Seriously though, football is the best sport on earth.

Now back to our regularly scheduled posts of you and Carlos telling me I'm wrong. Grin

Football?  The 'National Felons League'?  Serious?  You aren't from Europe (or South America) and mean 'soccer', do you?  Come on, football?  Alright, whatever floats your peepee.

This should have been a PM.

and here is where I poke you with a stick:

Your favorite sport isn't football it's WWF. That's the only reason I can figure for your love of Lesnar the Cockchest.

And of course...we are just having fun at your expense.   Grin
