Dropstharock:

Nate was caught and suspended for using steroids. I'll post up a link when I'm not on my phone.
Ah, found one: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=445&zoneid=13

LOL "it was the same substance found in the body of heavyweight boxer James Toney."  In that case, it's not cheating... it's offering your opponent assistance.

///jk///
I wasn't aware of that... that kinda dulls the shine a bit.  I've found Nate easy to cheer for b/c he's got a pretty clean image and record, plus he's got a history of paying dues and taking tough fights without excuses.  I guess I'll have to weigh this out.

Speaking of steroids...  http://www.mmamania.com/2010/9/20/1699425/chael-sonnen-steroids-test-could

Sonnen tested positive for roids from his fight against Silva.  A little disapointing (that he got caught) because I really liked the idea of Silva loosing in a rematch.

It was ridiculous. Here it is for all your Aldo nut-hugging pleasure. (It's hard not to jump on the Aldo bandwagon)

Yeah lots of great fights on that card.

The Korean Zombie got seriously knocked the make the beast with two backs out.

He probably still doesn't know where he is. It was a viscious head kick.

120 held no appeal for me whatsoever... maybe I just don't get interested in the Brits, I dunno.

A while back, I'd have paid good money to see Bisping get KTFO.  I guess he's not even obnoxious enough for me to stay angry at.

Yeah, I just watched it last night. Meh.

Can't freaking wait for 121 Saturday.  Looks like the best card they've had in awhile.

Though I think he loses in the first Cain does present the best matchup for Brock.  If he can land some good combos early he could pick Lesnar off.  He will not be able to stop Brock from taking him down and will probably have to fight from his back so we'll have to see how good his guard  is.  Lesnar finishes him late in the first.  Bring on JDS.

Hammil/Ortiz should be another good one as well as Jake Shields UFC debut.

How can you guys say Meh? granted, the Bisping/Akiyama fight was Ok, but the Condit/Hardy was amazing. I was so happy to see Hardy hit the floor. I've always rooted for Condit and I'm happy he's finally back to his WEC form. I mean, the dude has a 95% finishing rate, how can you not love him?

Dude, Couture stopped most of Brock's takedowns, and was able to get up quickly, Cain is 10x a more accomplished wrestler. Let's be honest here, Brock has struggled to take down every wrestler he's faced. That Div1 championship he got a decade ago is history. Cain is better at every single aspect of the game. There is nowhere where Brock has superiority except in pure size.

Brock showed his true colours in his last fight. As soon as he started getting hit in the face, he ran backwards without looking and turtled up. If it wasn't bc Carwin is an idiot that doesn't know how to pick a shot he would be the champ right now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Cain fan and I think the Brown Pride bullshit is just plain stupid, but I just don't see Brock winning this one.

We'll see what happens won't we?

Brock has gotten significantly better every time he fights so I'm hoping the stand up is better this time.  Plus, last fight was really the first time he had ever been hit and I can see why you would run away from Carwin's punches.  No way Cain hits as hard as Carwin. He fought Couture with 3 fights under his belt so I can see why Couture would be able to defend him then.

Like I said before I think it could go either way but I think your wrong that Lesnar has no shot.

You can't just say that Lesnar has no shot with his size. I do think that Cin can out wrestling him. The size thing is the one advantage you can't really train for. Cain will need to take him down and keep Lesnar on his back to neutralize the one advantage.

Yes, Brock has been getting better, I agree, but no matter how much he has worked on it, there is no way his stand up is anywhere near Cain's. And Cain's stand up is leagues ahead of Carwin's in everything but power. Carwin basically just stands there leadfooted and delivers bomb after bomb. Cain has beautiful technique and speed.

As for the Couture thing, Brock's wrestling skills haven't changed since then, you cant tell by the simple way that Carwin defended his takedowns with a basic whizzer. Couture is a smaller and less accomplished wrestler than Cain. Wrestling is Lesnar's base, he hasn't improved on it since he came in.

Nope, Cain needs to win this standing up, where he has the largest advantage over Brock, who doesn't like getting hit at all.

Uh... I'm hoping I never find out, but I wanna say Cain probably hits plenty hard.  I think it's probably more of a difference of a sharp, snappy blow vs. a heavy thud.  When I watch Cain's fights I notice his balance and weight transfer are really good for a heavy fighter, vs. Carwin having more of a 'push' effect... I just imagine Cain dumping all his energy right at the end of your chin as opposed to Carwin trying to blast his hand out the back of your head.

FHE tells me the snappy puncher can turn the lights out as well or better than the heavy 'push' guy.  But I woke up rested and refreshed...

I'm going with all the high-energy guys in this one...
Cain
Kampman
Sanchez
Hamill
Schaub

I agree with you on almost everything.

Except the Kampman and Sanchez fights.

Kampman is a beast but there is a very strong possibility that Jake Shields humps him to yet another boring ass decision. I want kampman to rearrange Shields's already awkward face though.

And as for Sanchez, I don't think he ever truly recovered from the beatdown that Bj gave him. Thiago is a baaaad mofo.

Just curious, what makes Velasquez a more accomplished wrester than either Couture of Lesnar?   Huh?
