I was working for a Ducati dealer running there parts Dept working 6 days a week, the place went broke and closed down.
So I returned to the retail world (TV's, Car Audio and Home audio) they could only offer me a Casual position at the time, so I took it, I have been working full time since I left school, so this was a bit of an adjustment!
I have been there for about 4 months now, and I have to say I am enjoying the job, I don't have to worry about any of the Drama's and problems, I just go in, do my 5 hours and walk out, Simple!
I watch the full time workers stress about budgets, and sales counts, reports and work lists, and on and on it goes......
1 guy knows his stuff, but has has poor motivation, takes a bit to get him moving, but once he's going he'll stick with it.
The other guy is a nice bloke, not great with his product knowledge and has poor retention of information, but tries hard enough.
They keep wanting me to step up to a full time contract and be the Dept manager, but I have said I am happy just doing the part time work for the time being, The Area manager who visits once a month has tried to talk me into the Managers job on a couple of occasions now, but the little bit of extra money and conditions they are offering is not worth the extra hassles and stress.
But it is working out well for the wife and I, I do the majority of the housework and cooking, we have very little debt (a credit card we owe a few thousand on) and we are putting away good money in a high interest savings account.
But I am enjoying the cruisy work life for once!
