My first street bike was a Kawasaki S2 350 triple.   Then I wound up with a Kawasaki S3, a 400, that had AMA tech inspection stickers on the forks.    It turns out that it was built by Jack McCornack, and got 3rd place at Daytona in one of the production classes, it was a pretty fast little bike.

Now on the other hand, I'm currently buying a 1980 KZ1000 from a co-worker, it has been rebuilt and has a new crank, but it isn't a cherry by a long shot, for $500.   It's got a set of 35mm flatslides on it, doesn't carburate particularly well, but it has never been jetted right.    But it runs.    A builder if you will.

I am going to try to build it more or less like one of these.

I particularly like the second Z-1 in the pictures.

is the blue one a 160? My first bike was a 305 Superhawk. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one again

Sure looks like a 160 motor, obviously the tank is custom.  I have no info on that bike

The first bike I bought new was an S-2. [thumbsup]

It was a fun bike.

I'm restoring a bike like this.  It is sad what 35 years of neglect can do.
