What'd you say about my Momma?

« on: October 15, 2009, 12:08:31 PM »

Dare I say, I like it!
Haven't ridden one yet but looks to be peppy and comfortable.  Just spoke with a guy that put 75000 miles on his in 3 years without a glitch.  He used to ride a Harley until his caught on fire while going down the highway!!

Will not be a replacement for the 2001 Cromo, merely a stable mate. Originally was looking at a Hayabusa that I wanted to paint flat black but I think Ive outgrown that concept.  Oy, my achen back!

Maybe Ill paint the VTX flat black.....

Thoughts?

Want flat black Rog, Midnight Warrior.  People absolutely love the Warrior (except for the stonkin' huge exhaust)

I'd definitely go Victory if I ever plunked down for a cruiser.

This is the only cruiser type bike I would consider. Too bad it isn't imported to the US.  Undecided

The Suzook is probably my second choice.  It is one bad Mutha!

Not a big Victory fan, my buddy has a Vegas and its ok, thats just me.

I like the semi classic lines of the VTX, seems to be a well thought out machine.

I had a 2005 VTX 1800 Neo and it was a veyr nice machine.  It has a significant excess of torque and runs very well.  The suspension isn't anything to write home about, I swapped springs and replaced the fork oil to get a more compliant front end.

I sold it because it sat a lot after I got my Duc.  It's either the Duc or the Goldwing now.

There are some good deals to be had, especially on dealer NOS.  As everyone knows, it is a buyer's market on used bikes these days.

Pictures of my VTX are here.

I think you have been looking at the VTX1800 because you haven't seen the new Ducati Cruiser.

I saw a photo of how it might look in MCN a couple of months ago and I thought it looked very Ducati.

Whether it gets built like the photo is speculation at this point.

That Victory hammer is very nice looking  waytogo

As cruiser go I still like the retro look of the Nightster.
As you can see you can mod the hell out of them to look pretty decent.

The Nightster is cool but its too small for me.  Im 6'3" 210 lbs and the wife is 5'8" prolly a buck fitty, hence my desire for a freight train size bike.  I want to pack it up and roll out for a weekend at a time.

I want a removable windshield, saddle bags and a drink holder/ash tray.
