The final touch to my quest to be rid of the curse that is the ducati gauge and immobilizer package!! Already installed was a reflashed DP ECU that eliminated the immobilizer, now I got my hands on an Acewell 4000 series gauge to top it off. No more worries about riding in the rain, these things will run underwater!! Seriously, I've seen it done! It took some time scouring the wiring schematics for the bike, and a few editions of harnesses of my own design to figure out how to wire it up as the factory gauge uses a CAN bus for a good amount of data that is being displayed. I also had to rebuild the turn signal circuit since the factory gauge acts as the power supply and the flasher. All said and done I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I do still need to fab up a proper mount for it. I just threw something together with some scrap aluminum I had in my tool box. The profile of the bike is much improved, the new gauge seems to fit the lines better than the factory pod did. Sorry for the poor quality photos, I forgot my camera and had to use the cell phone instead.

She runs like crazy now with the ecu work. The sound this bike makes is incredible! The marvings have a nice booming idle, and absolutely scream up near redline. Earplugs are a must have now. The sound from the pods is nice too. For me it is worth it all to no longer have to worry about whether or not my bike will start up after being ridden in the rain. Being stranded once was enough for me.

You have accomplished my dream modification.  Great mod, eliminating the last vestiges of the immobilizer.  With a shop like that, how could I expect any less - lol.  The exhaust looks good too btw.

I want to do this sooooo bad. I had heard the only way was to dismantle the gauges and put the immobilizer  board somewhere else, this is much much nicer.

was flashing the ECU originally for performance or was it strictly for the immobilizer? could it be both, and does the place/product you used have a site?

the single gauge looks fantastic. I didn't realize how cluttered the stock gauge looks until you posted the pics of your bike.......huge improvement.

I'm guessing this would be an easier mod on a pre-immobilizer monster?

This probably would have been at least a cheaper mod on a pre immobilizer bike. With the availability of reflashed ecus it has become easier to disable the immobilizer. At first I tried to disassemble the factory gauge and mount the circuit board elsewhere on the bike, but I have removed the airbox, and the side pods, and relocated some wiring, and I was unable to find a place to hide the circuit. I am trying to go for a very minimalist, cafe sort of look, and I just didn't want some random box of circuitry and all of the associated wiring hanging out somewhere on the bike. The reflashed ecu also offered a significant performance gain over the stock unit. It started with the standard ducati performance map, and the vendor I used modified the map based on the equipment I had on the bike. The performance gain alone was worth the effort.
