So i have been researching exhausts for my S2R 800 (2006) and it seems like the slip-on's only work up to the 2005 model year. Anyone know why?

Maybe the info you are reading is old?

If they are slip-ons, I don't see why they wouldn't fit.

Possibly different mounting?  Not really sure though.  Are you saying they are listed for the 2005 S2R?

I believe if it's listed for a 2005 S2R, it will work on your 2006 S2R.  Just different years, same exhaust setup though.

they will fit

difference in the 05 and 06 is the udder is a true catalyst on the 06.

they will probably fit but they won't be technically street legal -- that's the only thing I can think of.

the bikes are identical in every way exc for the udder.

Don't understand why it wouldn't be street legal if i'm replacing something AFTER the catalyst. Anyway i emailed Akrapovic and got a reply back saying that it would fit.

noise regulations.   EPA regulates exhaust emissions and overall noise emissions.

if they are street legal, it will have "DOT/EPA APPROVED" prominently.
