Seat compatibility for various years and sub-models
«

I was hoping to find a chart or other guide to help me determine what my options are. I just purchased a BEAUTIFUL 2002 Monster 750 senna! The previous owner was a little "vertically challenged" and had the seat shaved. I am 6'3" and 200 lbs. (NOT vertically challenged!) so the extra couple inches I would love to have.
I'm seeing a few seats on eBay for various years and everything fro 620's to s2 and s4. Most LOOK identical, but before I shell out 150+ I want to know FOR SURE! Any help?
And I will definately post pics soon for anyone interested! Thanks!

2000 and newer fuel injected tanks will fit, excluding the 696 and 1100. Some later model seats may have two plastic squares on the seat pan that will need to be surgically removed.

Really!?! That would make it very easy then, wouldn't it! So no matter that the part numbers are different, as long as it's not off a 696 or 1100 it'll fit, huh? Cool! I'm assuming you have had an experience with this? And did you have to preform "surgery" on the plastic squares?

No no no.
Read above, 2000 and newer. So not just 'any' seat as long as its not a 696/1100. As an example, my '99 M900 seat will not work for you. A 2002 M900 seat will work for you.

There was a seat change that goes along with a slight change in the tank in 2000. I meant to say seat, not tank
Seats from Carbie or FI bikes will fit as long as they are 2000 or newer. That means any 2000 or newer seat will fit. Actually, older seats will work, but fit poorly. Some of the SR2 seats have the squares I am talking about. I vaguely remember they might present a problem, but cutting them off is no big deal if they do. My bike ('01) still has the original seat, so I have no FHE on the squares. Oh, forgot, some of the 600 and 620 Darks had lower seats, so you want to avoid those.

Thanks all!
Yes, when I said "any seat but 696 or 1100" I was simply reciprocating the info, assuming that we were now all talking only about 2000 or newer.
If the 600 and 620 darks may have lower seats, are any of you aware of any model with a higher seat?
Cheers!

There's the factory height on the 750's and 800/900/1000's, and the lower height on the 600/620.
Likewise, 696 owners sit lower than 1100's
