Very interesting (and long) article on brain damage and football. I've always been upset that my parents didn't let me play football when I was young...maybe it wasn't such a bad decision. 

...and for the record, I'm a big football fan.

I've worked with a few athletes who suffered TBI's, i.e.: football player, downhill skier, water skier, etc.  Working with Aphasics and patients with other cognitive disorders is rewarding work (when you see progress).  Unfortunately, they were all young and their recovery was minimal.  

I wonder how much brain damage I suffered as a kid after playing football without gear, banging my head on school lockers and smashing lunch boxes against my forehead.
