i think what you're seeing is everybody else getting faster and him not picking up as much speed.

give his out of the box speed, i expect hayden to have much better results once they engineer the bike to give him the feedback he's looking for.

What like early warning radar with anti 'dumb-ass about to punt you off the track' missles?
Why don't they just take the target off the back of his head  cheeky.

Well number 9 for Rossi.  As a diehard fan of his over the years, I have to contemplate if he has another one in him.  We have three current riders entering their primes as GP racers ( Stoner / Lorenzo / Pedrosa ) and a big crop of new talent joining the grid next year.  I don't think Rossi is anywhere near slowing down, but I think the amount of 1st class riders in the class will make a 10th an extroidinary achievement.  Whatever the outcome, 2010 is going to be incredible if these guys stay healthy.

I think that the level of competition might spur Rossi to stick around 2-3 more years before he calls it a career.  Italian press or not, I think we could all see him riding into the sunset on Ducati in 2011 and 2012.  The final stop and last challenge to build a Ducati that everyone can ride, not just the Aussie.

History is a fun thing to experience.  Enjoy the man while he's still here.

+ 11tby
Next year is going to be unreal. Now there are the young bucks at the front who are running a whole other race than those after 5th place. The young bucks at the front are crashing less and making better decisions. Something Rossi has had on them by a wide wide margin. Next year there will be some real rock star talent joining. Spies is going to be very fun to watch. Who knows what he will do but he doesn't come across like the 21 year old wet behind the ears rockets that joined in 06.

+ and the biggest + is that Stoner has come into his own in a more balanced way. Rossi's voodoo isn't going to have the same effect I predict. Stoner seems to be over it. And he's clearly able to throw it back in his face.

I'll guess the playing it safe thing for Rossi is done now. Next race will be a good one.
I hope next year too.

+1  Rossi doesn't like Valencia much, but I think he'll push as hard as he can there to secure a top three result.  He needs 3rd or better to crack 300pts and I know its important to him.

 Huh?

The are essentially calling Rossi an "old hen."  Rossi saying the joke is that old hen's don't lay eggs anymore, and the commentators were remarking that old hen's make the best broth.  I thought it was funny that the chicken had a face shield on with what looked to be the tribu dei chihuahua writing on it.

I missed it.

It's on again Tuesday morning. I deleted it to make room on my Tivo before I read this  Sad

As for the MotoGP race, I hope this puts to rest the rumours that Casey just didn't want to race.

Congrats to Stoner on the race and Rossi on the Championship.  waytogo

**Late Add: Holy crap, Dani Pedrosa actually broke a smile and looked happy  laughingdp
