So I rode my Monster to work this morning, park it in my usual spot/location for motorcycles, and come in. I got in to work at 7:30am, at 8:30am I realized that I forgot to cover my bike so I took the cover out only to discover that some jackass stole the barend off the right side of my handlebar!!! WTF??? It was there when I rode in this morning, and they don't just fall out, so someone had to pry it off and take it. Again....WTF???

...I suppose that I should be grateful that that's all that was taken....why don't people respect other peoples property??!!

....one more time....WTF??!!  Angry

You SURE it didn't fall off and you just didn't see it? It's not that obvious in the dark of the morning...

That happened to me recently. Luckily there was another Monster in the parking lot and I borrowed one of his.  chug

I'm sure. It was light when I left this morning and I did a walk around on my bike before I left. I would have noticed it missing.

Yeah, that may be my newest tactic....it just irks the crap out of me that people do annoying crap like that.

I'd love it to give off an electrical charge when anyone but me touches it.

that sucks, but why would someone steel just one? i suspect it may have been there when you strated your ride and fell off during the commute. A theft at 8am when there is lots of traffic around sounds odd to me, and if the bar-end was in tight, you aren't prying that thing off. Now if this is just a bar end(allen key expansion internal) i suppose someone could pry it off, I have Tomaselli clip-ons that came with plastic end caps
Is theft a big problem where you park? do you lock you cover? i have had weights rattle loose, but i caught it before it tried to escape.
If you are convinced this was a theft of one bar end at 8am(ish), i am sorry for your misfortune but this sounds to me like it was loose and fell off.
i will be on the look out for a stolen bar end

Of course I'm keeping it in the back of my mind that it could have fallen off, but I'd swear that it was there when I came in. Where I park there's a good amount of traffic, but I doubt that anyone would even think it odd that someone was doing something to a motorcycle - assuming it was their own bike. I've got a mirror on the left side and the right was just the stock bar end, and it has never been removed. It took a flat head screw driver to pop off the left one to install the mirror, but you certainly could not have just yanked it off.

I know it must seem ridiculous to have a thread about this, but I'm sure that it didn't fall off. I do cover my bike 99.9% of the time with a full cover, but as i'm sure that you know, Ducatis attract attention...

The retarded nature of this whole issue just frustrates the crap out of me.

I understand brother, it does suck....but look at it this way...you may start to have a better weekend if you think it just fell off rather then your girl was violated.....just saying.. And besides if you can't post up here about stuff where are you going to do it that so many people would care what you have to say?

One of the pieces that my visor attaches to on my helmet had come loose the other day.  It takes a flat head screwdriver to loosen or tighten it (with the visor off).  I know nobody messed with my helmet, somehow it just got loose over time.

Why not give the world the benefit of the doubt?  It's Friday after all. Cool

I would but it just seems so odd. I'm sure you know that feeling in the back of your mind where you're like "this just doesn't add up"

I had a barend stolen once here at the university. A buddy had his horn stolen. People are strange.
