Removing pass pegs from stock 696....
«

I know there was a post where the stock asm was machined and coated black but I can't find the thread . I have a used set of peg mounts I want to machine off the extra to remove the passenger pegs. I put a XBox system and did a tail chop now the passenger pegs stick out like a sore thumb. Anyone?
?

Search for member; hamsandwich. He has done this mod but I can't remember the thread right now, and if you PM him I'm sure he'll help.

What I thought about doing is finding some sliders on which I could modify the mounting point then place in the passenger peg mounts. This would help protect the Termis in case of a tip over. I don't want them to stick out very far however; thought about some axle sliders.

the mounts do bend in lowsides (ask me how i know) so not sure slides on them would help.

In the event of a tip-over though, a set of sliders there might work well. I have thought about it on both bikes.

So THAT'S the reason for the custom rebuild?
Man, I gotta tell you; there are easier ways to get the wife to let you spend money on rebuilding your bike. Next time, don't go to such extremes.
BTW, glad you walked away from that scene.
