ROLL TIDE

I purchased my monster through the old forum, and except for a series of clear pictures, it was sight unseen.

Didn't come from IZ, then.  Grin

Ok, so after some talks with the mods-that-be, I'll tell you that the user was Pearljazz, though she works for somebody else - if you start a deal and the payment is to go to macman320@hotmail.com, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The best advice is just be wary of anybody that only PMs in response to "parts wanted" threads and the like and hardly ever actually posts anything themselves.
HOWEVER, I don't want this taken as a call-to-arms. Our right/wrong radars are functioning well enough to know what he pulled was BS, so they should also register that a bunch of hate mail and/or moral lecturing won't make him suddenly repent, donate his money to charity, adopt a litter of blind puppies and start farting rainbows. I'm only letting this out for purposes of avoidance - if the sales go away, so does the offender. I know it's probably stating the obvious, but you know how these things go...

I'm happy with the calm tone this thread has taken.   Thank you for the heads up, Scheffy, and thank you for taking the frustration out of it.

this place is for enthusiasts to help each other out and share Duc experiences...good and bad.         Post count doesn't mean everything, but lots of participation means you can certainly read history and see for yourself who's who etc. for better or worse.

asking around before committing to anything is good too....people know people who know people.   network to your own advantage.

ride hard, everyone.   chug

Well handled up until someone posted a totally out of bounds, personal attack.

I snipped it, and the mods and I will be debating what to do with the poster.

In the meantime, since some folks can't keep it civil, or if not civil at least not hoping for bodily harm for certain folks, this thread is locked.

There are apparantly several people with experience with this seller.    I will ask that any +1s stay factual and leave off the insults, wishes for fiery deaths, etc.

thread is unlocked for now.   Keep the emotions out of it, folks.

I was also burned by this seller, but through his eBay store.

I bought a used but supposedly perfect condition tach from him through eBay. It arrived to me with a scratched and marked face, chipped bezel, corroded connectors, and broken (and poorly re-glued with Epoxy) mounting post. The auction called the tach in "used but absolutely mint condition". When I confronted him via email he became hostile, called me a CSI sleuth (sound familiar?) and became verbally abusive. Said he had hundreds of positive transactions and I was the first person who had taken issue with his business practices.

Eventually, after nearly a month of evasive back-and-forth emails I was issued a refund for the tach but lost on customs (I'm in Canada), handling, and return shipping fees (he refused to issue any sort of compensation until the tach arrived to him "for inspection" though I'd sent him pics, and refused to issue any refund for my return shipping costs). In fact, he never apologised for the transaction-turned-bad, and called me, in essence, a troublemaker with too-high expectations on used parts. In all, I lost in excess of $50 to shipping and customs fees on a $160  transaction.

I strongly suggest staying away from this seller.
