why is there a black dot in the sunshine?

My GoPro does the same. I know thats not an answer, but it does.
I'ts the brightest part of the pic?
Camera's the size of a box of Tic Tacs, it can't be too smart bright.  laughingdp

a little bit of an off angle for this comment, but it looks like steven is getting his body positioning very crossed up...

You know I thought so too, but when you look at pictures that were taken with a normal lense you can see that it's not the case.  I think it's just the distortion of the very wide angle lens.  It looks that way on this camera angle on MotoGP too and I know those guys are doing it right.

That's kind of what I was wondering - if for the sake of quality throughout the rest of the picture, the intense white spot has to be blacked out. Just a little distracting. I at first thought it was a large bug or bird that was dive bombing the riders, and thought "how come nothing cool like that ever happened when I was at Barber"

it's a color saturation / white balance thing. the full white value that the camera is recognizing is further out in the sun, so it doesn't know what to do with the even brighter part... so it ends up black. it's wierd, i see it alot in RAW photo files...

you'd think they would just write it in the programming to make it maximum white.  Oh well

Still organzing stuff but here is one of Steven and I

We are likely going down in March again.  Steven's mom lives in Birmingham and we have done this trip 2 times now.  It works out pretty good because we don't have to stay at a hotel and he gets a visit in with the Mom.  I'll have a beer with all you guys next time.  I like beer and I like motorcycles.

I would love to take my monster to Barber.  I've only ridden it at Mid-OH, but last time I was there I crashed.  Now everyone makes fun of me for crashing my street bike when I have a track only bike.  I don't care, that monster is so much fun on the track, I'm sure I'll end up on the track with it again.  Just seems the Gixxer always makes it to Barber.  I'm getting more comfortable on the Gixxer so it'll probably be on the track 90% of the time.

Here are a couple shameless pics of my monster on the track

It's so fun to ride.

Well, I'll just have to get you back the following night.  As crazy as this sounds I might just have to get my M1100 out on the track and wring its neck.  It is so beautiful and new but I know it should be run hard!!!!!

I whole heartedly support this.  The monster is sooooo much fun on the track.  Beware though, if you that's what you get  used to on the track then riding a superbike will take some adjustment.  I still can't go as fast on the track on my GSX-R750 as I can on my monster but I'm working on it.
