That one, my first, rattled around for nearly 5 days before they finally had to go in the hard way to snag it. Spent 4 of those in the hospital on Demerol. Two days after I got home, I ignored my then wife's "suggestion" that I stay in bed for a few more days and went for a ride on my motorbike. 30 minutes later, I performed an inelegant low speed high side, and had to go back to the hospital because I thought I had fractured my hip. The other four stones I have passed since werent nearly as dramatic.
Man that's rough!

My longest day was 725 miles in 12 hours on my '86FJ1200. I was on a trip to the Blue Ridge mountains to visit friends. I rode from Minneapolis, MN to Dayton, OH. It was another 425 miles in 12 hours to get to their place on the parkway; riding through eastern OH, winding WV and then into VA. I had several 500+ mile days on that bike while I owned it. It was great for sport touring.
I had a few 500+ mile days on my stock '81KZ750. I took a trip from Minneapolis, MN up to Jasper, AB down into BC, back through Glacier National and Devil's Tower to home in 9 days on that bike for a total of 4000 miles. Longest day was 575 miles and the shortest was 300 miles. No windshield, no backrest, no highway pegs, no proper riding gear; ah what a trip!
I have had a few 200 mile days on the Ducati, but I did not take a moto trip this year so those were Sunday morning rides.

me and elTristo did something like 1500 miles in 5 days last year in cali
from SF up to healdsburg, stewart's point to skagg's then up through ukiah to get 'round that lake and down to windsor, then to monterey with a stop at alice's, then solvang and SLO, then back up to SF
I think the long day was 350, and most of the miles were off the slab

Excellent thread
Any bike I'm sure, sport bike and Monster in particular would take some acclimation for a longer
ride in comfort, i notice a big difference this fall .vs mid summer.
320m Adirondack ride (with Lunch break) no prob.
~300 thru NH I suffered considerable earlier this year, still an absolute make the beast with two backsing blast.
Some very stout rides reported here on Monsters, not the easiest touring bike!
kudos to you all.

Hmmmm....this the same ride I read about in the
Desmo Leanings
?
That'd be the one, Demon. I rode the bike from near Atlanta (where I bought it) to Albuquerque over three days. First day from Rossville, GA to Little Rock, AR, second day to Dallas, third to ABQ. About 1800 miles total.
It's always fun to try something new on a Ducati. Gary Egan has tried to talk me into doing the Barrow, AK to Key West, FL run on the MH.....but I don't believe I'm up for that just yet. Maybe on a HM, though?!?

No matter what you are on, Florida is a boring state to ride in, and the Florida Keys aren't the most enjoyable with the 45 mph speed limit for nearly 200 miles. I rode my ST2 down there from the Greenville, SC area back in late December of 2000. It was 29 degrees when I left the house, the high for the day was 54 somewhere around Daytona, and I got stuck in Bowl Game traffic on I-95. I don't think I've ever had my feet on an interstate for that amount of time before in my life. It took me around 12 hours to cover the 500 miles from my house to Daytona. I've done several trips to Daytona for Bike Week over the years, but I have no interest in ever riding down to the Keys, again.....

I guess I'm on the short side. I did 235 on a run after my 600 mile service. The dealership is 50+ miles from my house and from there I just rode till I found a road to get home. Home by 3PM that day. Miss the monster. Want another one. [moto]

Keep in mind, what Monsterlover and Knight did was well in excess of what the average Iron Butt Guy does in terms of endurance and Knight did it with a broken ass

I don't know howie. . .
650 is a big number, but not the biggest in this thread. . .
actually it's probably in 4th or 5th place.
I guess I got no game
