If you are just looking at a regular seat cowl, I say  waytogo I do prefer the cowl on.
The mirrors don't suit the style of the bike, but then it depends what you are going to do with it.
What look you are going for, old cafe racer stlye or new hip Monster baby with all the billet and carbon you can get your hands on.

Re the mirrors, I think it depends on what you're trying to do - Ive seen some good examples of (like matty said) a more cafe approach that's looked the goods with the napaleon style bar end mirrors. Add some clubman bars, some headerwrap etc etc etc and they'll fit right in.

One thing I can add....I think all of our bikes look better with the rear cowl on.

Cowl -  Smiley
Mirrors -  Sad  They look exactly like my stock one's. I got rid of them quick smart.
Tail - Undecided   I think an appointment with a hacksaw or grinder is necessary.
If the tail is chopped you will probably want shorter pipes though.
Long or short, they do look much better black, than silver.

Some grey zip-ties to replace the black ones would look nice. So would a shorter rear hugger.

I better stop now, before I start describing my bike....

By the way, nice choice in colour  Wink

yeah, that's the problem, my opinion only really means the bike will look like MY bike, or what I like...so it doesn't really work....that's why I figured a broad comment like "I like rear cowls' works....otherwise I'm telling people to build my machine, and who wants that? well, other than me!

I'd offer the grey cable ties but I'm all out, imported a pack of 100.....20 for me....80 for DMF'ers  Smiley

You could buy my pre-loved in great order Oberon mirrors  cheeky
A cowl will run you a couple of hundred new, second had depends on condition.

I'm doing the same thing...wanted to build up an old bike into a cafe racer, but living with an old bike is not for me!  Ended up buying a 695 which goes, stops & handles better than any 30 year old bike ever will

I've just put clip on bars & small round bar end mirrors to make it a bit like a cafe racer...still have some more to do on it to finish it off, but here it is so far....

PS. Ok I tried & tried....whats the trick to inserting pics into the message?Huh?

Hey Monstar_100

If you hit the trading post thread at the top of the OzMonsters Page and go to the last page you'll find them.

Or you could just click this link http://ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=1171.405
And if you want to see them on my bike, my signature photo you can see them on the bike.
You can also hit my flickr page and go to the set S4Rs Pretty Photos and that is them on the bike.

cheers
Matty...

Using the same url address but use insert image buton instead of insert hyperlink.  This board is littered with a lot of us going  bang head over inserting pics but once you've got it life becomes easier.

Mirrors look good.  Nice looking bike.
