I was riding in Malibu this morning.  I was coming up Mulholland just north of the Rock Store.  If you've never ridden that area, it's a very challenging ride with some very tight hairpins, one after another.  I was going at a very spirited pace when it felt something touching my right forearm.  I looked down, and saw that my Monstrack mirror had come loose and had swung down and was resting on my forearm.  I've had the mirrors loctited on for over 4 years and they have never budged before. l slow down substantially and twist the mirror back into place.  Just then I hit another hairpin turn and right accross the apex of the turn is a slick of mud and loose gravel.  I hit it and the back tire steps out slightly, but I'm able to catch it and ride through it.  Had the mirror not come loose, I would have hit that corner at a much higher speed and probably wiped out.  Like I said earlier, I'm not much of religious person, but I honestly felt that someone upstairs was looking out for me.

Nice to feel loved!

I took off my annoying vibrating Monstrack mirrors, and replaced them with a CRG Blindsight.  Never looked back...uh...I mean...that didn't come out right.

Maybe that was a warming from the big guy up stairs, as in "the next one, you are on your own".

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.
i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

It's moments like that when you're made certain that someone is watching your back.  waytogo

Just a suggestion - ride a pace lap first to scope out the road before going bonzai!!
