God i logged onto the DML and got all depressed, it's now so generic.
I stumbled on the post about the "new" site and I am glad to be back amongst friends.

I think any question as to 'Why we're here' can now be answered by logging into the remnants of the DML...   <sigh>

That about sums it up for me!! And the fact that I lost everything and had to reset my pwd just login and... well nm, you get the idea.

My deepest thanks to those who took the time and made the effort in doing this. So the rest of us won't have to go thru withdrawals of what was once a great place to hang out. Lemme know if ya need some help in anyway.  wt:

Likin the new site.  My old profile at DML isn't working.  You guys are great, thanks.

I can appreciate why you guys are doing what you're doing here, but IMO a fork of the forum is a bad idea...  Some will come here, some will stay on the DML, and some will probably frequent both, but in the end, we're all worse off being split up.

And yeah, maybe it's a lot of ads in the new site (they can easily be blocked), but that sort of thing is basically on every site anymore.  You can blame VS, but they're just like the rest of us; trying to make a buck or two to pay the rent.  Besides the ads, I don't see any material difference in the forum - it doesn't seem to do anything more than the old software, but it doesn't seem to do less either.

Anyway, my 2 cents.  We'll see how this shakes out...

We agree...  But since it was VS that had the option to pull the 'ad-fest' trigger, we had to have a contingency plan and the DMF is it.

I'll pick the no ads option any day of the week.
