I surprises the hell out of me that VS would continue to follow the same plan when site after site follows the same pattern.

My guess is they show large numbers of "members" on their rolls, even after most folks have moved on elsewhere. And of course, they base their ad prices on the number of folks, not the number of posts.

Or as I said before they raped TOB, sounds like strip mining to me.

I don't think.  Your name goes away, and is replaced with a number.

I had been away for a while and when I returned to the "other" forum I knew within the first 2 seconds that something had changed.  Then it took only a few threads to realize that a large number had moved out, and a few more threads to realize that I needed to do a google search.  This was how I found this forum.  it has the feel that the other one lost.  Glad to have found you all.
