* 2 Putting your foot down on something slippery when stopping.

Happened to me last week. A newspaper flew from the back of some guys truck and stuck to my leg. I tried to shake it off and thought that I had succeeded. At the next light I put my foot down to find that it merely moved to my foot. I almost dropped the bike while sliding across the pavement. Not a fun feeling.

* 4 Missing the driveway and sliding on the grass.

Happened to me yesterday, well sort of. I pulled over for a fire truck to pass. When he passed I tried to pull back on the road only to have the bike tire spin. Almost dropped it, not fun either. And it turned out that as soon as the fire truck passed around the corner he turned his damn lights and siren off. Seems like he didn't want to wait in traffic. What an a hole.

Part 1: Drink an excessive amount of beer
Part 2: Sit down on bike to go home
Part 3: Raise the kickstand
Part 4: Fall over

In that particular example it might have been for the best. Wink

did anyone actually catch this one?

 * 37 Trying to countersteer (or wheelie) your shaft driven bike?

why cant you countersteer or wheelie a shaft driven bike?Huh?

Remember the whole "plane on a treadmill" fiasco?

Well, years ago on the rec.ba.motorcycles usenet forum there was a similar debate on why you couldn't wheelie or countersteer a shaft drive bike.

And thanks for bringing up that painful memory  Cry

Also, in memory of that fateful debate, I will ban kill the first person who claims you can't wheelie or countersteer a shaft drive bike.
