Also heard he was stressed about his impending deployment to Iraq.

With a name like his it makes you wonder ?   

Wasn't the soldier that killed fellow  American soldiers in Kuwait or Iraq early on in the Iraq war , didn't he have an Arab name ?

Islam teaches religion comes before nations.

i heard initial reports there were two more gunmen (but now just the one). also the reports now show he lived with another muslim man (maybe his cousin?).

So he's supposedly stressed about deployment because of the horror stories he's heard from returning soldiers (because they tell him, cause he's a shrink).

So, escape the horrors of war by shooting people at home? 

They're also saying he was upset that he got grief for being a Muslim.  If so, he certainly did every other Muslim no favors by his actions.

i haven't seen or heard any news about this guy alleging he was some sort of terrorist/sleeper cell agent, etc.

not saying it hasn't been reported, just that i haven't seen it. if you have links to articles, post 'em up.

i have, however, seen this reported many places:
