Me want!!!  Still don't understand where the lower price/same specs deal comes from.  Maybe they are just clarifying that it isn't going to be like all the other "Dark" models with downgraded components.  Travman: Where was that article from?

I'm calling shenanigans until I can see the spec sheets of the two bikes side by side. There has to be something that makes it a grand less, other than the goodness of Ducati's heart.

So what?  A lot of the '09s already had that.  Not like those wheels are a significant change to the '10 spec.

And there's nothing wrong with 'em.

Perelli tires are going on all the bikes now I read as well.

Maybe it is the economy and Ducatis aren't selling as fast.  Quite a few manufacturers have lowered prices this year and last year.  By calling it a Dark, Ducati is able to save face some when lowering the price.

Ooh, that's a good point.

Kinda makes me mad to have to pay a grand more to get the faster color though... cheeky

That's true. The $1000 less in your pockets is going to make you lighter, and thus, faster...

Does anyone know if the DARK 848 will be a USA model? It's not on the DNA only shows a red and white one.

Anyone happen to notice that the SE Nicky Hayden edition 848 has Captian America written all over it?
