I've become an old man on an old man's bike

WWW
« on: November 11, 2009, 12:06:49 AM »

Soooooooo, I've been collecting these little things up for a few weeks and decided today was the day to do it.

got myself a set of Speedymoto Tall Boy Clip-ons from Ungeheuer when he swapped his 696 for the 1100
that started the ball rolling, then came the Speedymoto Top Triple and DP steering nut (red)
lastly sourced a second headlight U-ring already black powder coated.

I was planning on doing the headlight and gauge lowering but that will now be another day.
As you can see I have just a few things to put back on and she'll be complete.

oh and I'm doing some masking with vinyl to see what sort of paint scheme I want to do next winter

This is the part where I got real scared that I wouldn't get it back together!!!

Good work Matty. waytogo
Not to sure on the old school Ducati sticker, not fast enough for you bike Smiley
Doing that type of work i like to remove the tank as it is so easy to slip or drop something and and put a scratch on it you just don't need. Cry

Ps get your self a work bench

The clip-ons measure up pretty much the same as regular bars, it just cleans up the cockpit.
Bazz just hit my flickr link and you'll see bigger pics.
Rob, no space in my place for a work bench so putting things in groups on the ground has to do.

Coming together beautifully waytogo

I like the idea of a part black tank.
Looks like the tech-spec tank grip, only larger.

The blue fork adjusters - you know what to do.....

I've never seen the Ducati levers with the red tip. Sexy!

My pictures regarding tank grips and filling the space under the gauges:

Thanks Stopintime,

I have another little plan for the space, that is if I don't do a lowering job with my now spare U-ring.
Thought I'd use some vinyl first to come up with a few ideas before spending money on paint and not liking it.

Ungeheuer, the turn lock to lock is fine. I have angled the Tall Boys back as far as possible with out then hitting the tank.
I'll be out for a ride today and let you know how it feels.

I did think about them but haven't quite decided yet.

Sounds messy and too fiddly.
Maybe when it comes time for paint.

Looking good Matty! waytogo

Been looking at the Suburban Machinery bars for a little comfort but looking at your set up I may be swayed!

Keep up the bling! waytogo
