It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

Y'know, we talk about not being able to have a great American Sportbike, but we've got the ingredients to make a great American "Bimota" right here.

ArcFab + Alex Ortner + The guys on this board that do custom work (Mark, Norm, Stew, et al)
Doug's Rat bikes, and alex's 908ssp/996gpdue/1036cs --> Kind of like looking at the Radical Ducati bikes, or better yet the NCR high-dollar bikes and the Pierobon frames/bikes.

Kind of disappointing that getting everybody under one roof with enough capital to get it going is far more difficult than it would seem.

Just you wait and see what I'm piecing together (slowly) to take my best shot at a low low 300lbs motorscooter  [thumbsup]

My original goal was under 300 lbs and 100 hp. It's proven to be very expensive getting there. I'm at 306 lbs right now, but I've got plans that will get me to my original goal and hopefully under 290. I'm looking for an 1100 motor with the new lighter castings. I'm going to change the exhaust soon, as the muffler alone weighs 8.8 lbs.
It seems like people are split on the looks, but I converted it to a streetfighter because I was tired of the riding postion (I'm 53 years old). The headlight mounting was done as a temporary fix, I'm looking to clean that up a bit.
I'll probably be at this thing forever.

I was wondering if you were the owner the way the first post read.
Every bike I've ever owned.

For the record it's not a great American bike. It's a Ducati

Haven't you heard? We started outsourcing a while ago.

If it was finished in America, it's a great American bike in my book.
I own several motorcycles. I have owned lots of motorcycles. And have bolted and/or modified lots of crap to said motorcycles...
