SO basically you don't know  :P

service interval? Average cost per service etc.

Ducati 6k service, Japanese bike 18k service  ;D

They call it the "Italian BMW" for a reason. From what I hear, they're pretty dependable.

Yep, the extent of my Guzzi experience was riding one for half an hour, 25-30 years ago.  [laugh]

I have been eying the current version of this bike, but the dealer said they just announced they are no longer bringing it to the US.  No Norge in 2010.  I wonder if that means the new version will also stay Euro only.
There are enough left over Norges from 2009 sitting in dealer showrooms that Guzzi is going to wait a year before bringing over the 8V version.

Well, maybe in a year I will have enough $ to get one.   ;D  At least it is not going away forever, which was the impression I was left with talking to the dealer (who granted wants to sell a bike NOW.)

If it was me I'd have to go with the full warranty left-over stock Norge 1200 with the 4V motor.  They have been going for about $10,500 as left-overs.  That is a great price for a proven motor.  Watch this auction.  I bet it won't sell or will sell right at $10.5K.
