Oberon aftermarket clutch plate

I just received my Oberon Cyclone clutch plate and when looking at it I saw the number of teeth, or I should say the lack of teeth. When I ordered it I couldn't tell from the picture but the Cyclone plate has a limited number of teeth kinda like a star plate. I didn't order a star plate because I thought the plate with a complete outer ring would be stronger. Am I being overly concerned here; is the number of teeth on the Cyclone sufficient? I like the fact that the Cyclone protects the posts but now I can't decide.

Its not a big deal. The teeth are just there to permit it to push the plates all together. Its not a rotational driving plate, its a 'squeeze the driving plates together' plate.
I've got tons of miles on the Rizoma 'star' like plate. Those teeth just keep it aligned with the hub so that the hub posts and such aren't having to pull it around and guide the springs etc.

More importantly ,line up th plate correctly ,notice the single cutouts ,then the double,line up the double with the notch ,or arrow on the basket.

I realize the teeth don't rotate but I was just wondering that with the firing pulses if the jarring will cause more rapid wear without more engagement teeth. I'm going to install it. Not a big deal to change it later anyway.
I know about the notch (on this plate it's at the very edge of the outer ring) lining up with the notched post.

Don't worry about it. Really on a pressure plate those teeth are just used to align it. It's job is just to apply pressure to the stack

Worry about what color you're going to paint it in two weeks when the red anodizing fades to pink.

I'm hoping it will last longer than that!!
Mine is kept in the garage except when out on a ride. Got it installed Saturday after she cooled down from my ride. Now I'm just waiting on the Speedymoto cover to come in.

Ano really depends on the shop that did it, and the dyes they used. I've got a red speedy moto plate that's a couple years old now ans still quite red. I'm sure if you put it next to a brand new one, it'd look a bit different, but it's surely red, not pink.
Shoddy work/cheap dye will fade quite quickly - but I'd expect Oberon to hold up. Though they don't have much share in the US, they are a solid brand in the UK

I kinda wish I had gone with the Speedymoto Kukri Pro plate. It looks like a stronger designed plate than the Oberon but it's a done deal. I doubt Oberon would take a chance on putting out a bad design anyway. Time will tell me if I made the right decision.

I think you are vastly overthinking the whole pressure plate thing. Robustness would really only matter in a crash, and then you'd want something like the old CycleCats or SpeedyMotos to protect the spring posts of the hub, that way you wouldn't end up done for the day because of a lowside in a right hander at the track.

Still haven't got my Speedymoto open cover because I don't want to make the 70 mile trip to the dealer till the fender eliminator comes in from Ducati.
I'll be putting up some pics on the general forum after I get all my parts on (or at least the ones I have planned right now). As you probably know, changing out parts is a sickness.
