Buell being "allowed" to race in the AMA the way they did kinda irritated me.

But seeing that still makes me  Cry

 Angry

That's just a ridiculous indictment of corporate America. Anytime when it's cheaper and more preferable to toss product into a bin, especially product that costs that much, I get irritated.

What alternative do you propose? The average American (read: juror) will hold the manufacturer liable if something was to go happen to a person who bought the surplus bike, therefore its cheaper to avoid that pickle all together.

I heard rumors; rumors, mind you; that HD was going to repair Buell bikes for the next 4 to 5 years.  I don't know if that includes warranty work or just doing service and providing parts.  Funny thing is most HD shops (in Houston anyway) didn't sell Buell bikes.

Sure it's probably cheaper in the end avoid the liability, but god what a terrible waste.  I'm sure I'll have that image in my mind next time I fork out $140 for a new tire.

That's another level of idiocy as well. The bikes should be sold or stripped for parts. Something other than tossing them for scrap.

How crazy expensive would that be? You've got to individually disassemble, inspect, advertise, and warrant each individual part!

I owned a Buell once.  Road it from Anchorage to the Grand Canyon and then to Portland Or.  Thought about owning another, if they would dropped the stupid air scopes on the 1125.  Yeah so let me add my $0.02.  make the beast with two backs Harley! vomit

I almost find that pic hard to believe. First off, the scrap company would be seriuosly pissed. Second, would there not be some sort of auction. In todays world, businesses that get closed usually have persons in charge to take care of liquidating assets. Clearly those bikes have some value.
