... we are left with Roehr and Fischer as our only(?) American sportbike choices.  Fischer is intriguing since it appears to have a similar powerplant as the SV (Hyosung motor), but it does not have the mushy suspension.  The bodywork is debatable, but if Buell is the benchmark for styling, I would give it an 8 graded on the curve (I think I am saying I am beer-goggling the Fischer)

Thoughts?  Anyone have any FHE with either?

No, but I'm waiting for the likes of DucShop et al to make an American Bimota/NCR DBxxx series.

Then it can be an "american bike", something I'd want to purchase, and worth owning.

I could not pass up the deals H-D was giving on their remaining Buells....I may not be a work of art like a Ducati....But this think has a wicked look to it that I'm really learning to like.  And 150 hp Rotax (not Harley) motor is VERY nice!!!!

I'm finding both the fisher and the roehr quite attractive. The price tag on the Fischer is quite nice at $8k.

Short video on the Fischer - not sure if this is the finished product or not.  The seat to handlebar relationship appears to be pretty comfortable, but the footpegs seem kinda high to me.

a common miss conception is that the hyosung engine is the SV engine.  that is not true.  the only thing they share is the 90 deg layout.  not saying it is good or bad, but they are 100% different.

Meh, that article shows the Tuono and captions it "If Aprilia could give its Tuono 1000R platform a cosmetic make over and a power boost it could have something for the Buell and Ducati."

Big ol' disagree right there. I like the way the nut-punishing Streetfighter looks, and I like the unique yet similar look of the Tuono. I think the headlight area of the Buell is reminiscent of the SF, but its the one in need of a styling mulligan. Them air scoops gots to go.

In person they're much less offensive.

Yes, as Mitt says, we need a ride report.  popcorn

I saw a red one in the garage the other week, as I walked to my car, I kept staring at it. Its the only feature I *really* don't like. I think the black one looks better.

The Rhoer looks like a cofused Ducati, or maybe even the bastard child of the last 3 SBK designs into one.

I've always liked the XBs, Sportster motor or no. Quirky yes, but they're a hoot.

Especially when bored and stroked to 88" or so and cammed to the moon.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
