so, my folks are renting a house for a few weeks on cape cod for their 35th anniversary (they honeymooned there), and we are invited to come out for a week, they will even pay the airfare. but, i have been thinking about riding out from milwaukee (1100+ miles in two days). the ride there and back would be mostly slab just to save time, but once i am there it looks like there would be great riding on and around cape cod.

am i right? or will it just be crowded tourist hell?? this trip will be in the beginning of july.

I have family on Nantucket and have made the drive from Baraboo to Woods Hole a few times to catch the ferry.
I have always found the interstate to be crowded, boring, and not particularly senic for the most part. The Cape is very crowded in the Summer and not the best for bikes. I never plan to drive there again.

I grew up on the Cape. Traffic in the summer is mind blowing. To boot, the roads aren't that great anyway.

The roads suck for motorcycles-sand is freaking everywhere. Its small, the roads are short, there are no end of cops, and it'll be crowded. It's just a waste of a number of tires. I wouldn't bother.

Summer time on the cape?  Crowded?  Nooooooooooooooo Wink Grin

I grew up on the beach down there....  keep the bike home.  Enjoy the sand/surf and the bars.

 Where are they renting?
