Alrighty kiddies....

I want lower bars but not superbike low so the usual clipons ain't gunna cut it.  I looked at site and they had some speedymoto tall boys and they just seem just a tad too tall.  So almighty modding gurus of the DMF...any ideas? options? suggestions?  i will be getting the Rizoma reservoirs for it, if that makes a difference.  just want a clean look that doesn't kill the long distance ability of the bike.  thanks y'all

Just a couple options...

SpeedyMoto Tall Boys will put your grips at ~ stock S*R height.
Swatt 3.5" will put your grips at ~2" lower.....
Both options will put the grips closer to you, by about two inches.

Both will offer a hand position which is more natural for the wrists, not to mention relaxed elbows, which is good for everything except city hooliganismus free style.
Stock sweep angle is 18 degrees, clip ons will be around 30 to 45 depending on where you want the steering stops.

It's a radical change, but IMO just/only/exclusively for the better. Be prepared for learning the lesson of gripping the tank with your thighs though. If you don't, the bike will be hard to steer as your straight arms must support your weight.
If you do, it's party time - a little superbike transformation.

The Rizomas are the shit.  After seeing them installed on a bike, the pictures don't do them justice.  The price, however, will bring tears to your eyes.

If they cannot,do strength training and loose some weight in the off season,none of this stuff-------->

You will feel better and your riding will be much more enjoyable in the spring!

Use your arms to control your bike.

I have tall boys fitted on my bike and they are pushed down the fork tubes about an inch under the top triple. Perfect for me!

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of a stock bar installed upside down would you?  I have been kicking around the idea for a while now.  Will the controls not get into the fat part of the tank?

I have just put Speedymoto Tallboys on and I must say they rock.
Mine are pushed hard up against the new Speedy top triple, I have them swept back
just a little to give me some angle to the bars.

it's a waste of time. i tried it, and all it did was change the sweep angle JUST enough to make my controls hit the tank at full lock.
for the price, suburban machinery bars are without a doubt the bet option. they come predrilled for your switches and controls, look great, and provide a perfect medium between clipons and stock bars.

Well, almost.

The SpeedyMotos, at the highest point would be like the S*R bars, but you don't have to mount them at the highest possible point on the fork tube. you can slide 'em down if you like. So they offer a huge range of vertical adjustability. Similarly, with any of these clipon options, you can choose above the triple, below the triple, or below the triple and slid down the fork tubes some, all to get the bars where you like. Then, using the system your particular manufacturer has implemented, you can adjust the angle of the bar itself for comfort.
