Yup, that is one awesome bike. I want one bad. I'll have to wait until I'm experienced and rich enough to afford one though.

God damn... that is by quite a wide margin more powerful no less. They may actually succeed in shaking the market up for the portion of riders who are constantly buying the newest, fastest, most powerful bike.

All it will do is raise insurance rates even more on sport bikes. I'm actually a bit disappointed because the big Japanese 4 had seemed to call a truce on HP wars, and this will just reignite them. Bikes now are getting to be way overpowered, and I actually support a graduated licensing system that would limit the displacement you could get until certain age or test is passed.

I wonder how much insurance is on one of those. I've started hearing horror stories about RSV-4 premiums.

I agree. What can you do with all that hp on the street? Does that make me sound like a wimp?
I have a GSXR1000, GSXR750, RC51, Hayabusa, 999, 916SPS, 996S, etc... it's not like I don't know what I am talking about. Where does it stop? In some ways I am intrigued but in other ways I say enough is enough.
I know of a local case where a newbie (maybe late teens, early 20's) bought a new GSXR1000 from a friend's shop as his first bike and made it 2 maybe 3 miles down the highway and crashed on an exit at 100+ mph and died. The bike had like 4 miles on it. Oh yeah, his parents were following him in their car since they gave him a ride to pick up the bike.
How do you think they feel?

Meh... numbers.
I bet if you take the Busa and modify the induction so that its torque curve resembes the Bimmer, it'll spank it. There's a whole lot that goes on before reaching peak HP..

Yea and if you put a Bell Jet helicoptor motor in a bike you can spank a mig jet on take off.

I think the numbers are impressive from a design standpoint, but that doesn't necessarily equal satisfaction for an owner. I used to get caught up in the numbers and graphs, and felt like having more peak hp was always the goal. Over the years, though, I've found I'm much more interested in how a bike makes power than how much peak power it makes. The ride tells the story. Still, conceptually, that graph is quite impressive.

yeah, but the busa and the zx14 both have a 300cc+ advantage.
