anyone had passengers on a 620

anyone ever had a passenger on a 620? curious as to how much weight you can have combined between passengers on the bike and have it still move.

i'm 155 but will taking a passenger that is 130 on it be too much?  seriously, never had a passenger on it to find out.  it only has 60 hp remember.

I have a 695, I weigh 150# and with a passenger the bike dogs.  It can get around just fine, but to me, isn't really that much fun or comfortable.

I've had passengers.  I'm about 180 lbs and my passengers have been anywhere from 110-150 (although they'd kill me if I ever told anyone their weight).  The bike moves just fine (moves better if your passenger knows what they're doing).  If you haven't ridden 2-up before, just remember that braking is gonna take longer, and turning is most likely gonna take more effort (less if your passenger knows what they're doing).  

If you're planning a longer trip, you may want to crank some more pre-load into the rear spring.

It's fine.  I used to weigh 155 (*sigh*) and had The Blonde on the back of a 620 a bunch.  It's not an ideal 2-up bike because of comfort issues and suspension, but there's plenty of HP to ride off a cliff or take highway trips at triple digit speeds.  Just remember if you're really riding hard that it that it's gonna run a bit wide in turns because of all the weight on the rear.

And FWIW, there have been reports of a 620 doing 140 with Paris Hilton riding cupcake, so you should be just peachy.  Then again, it was a Capirex and the top speed may have had something to do with the extra stickers.

My wife rode on the back of a friends 750 Monster about 8 years ago with me. After about 2 miles she wanted off, and lord did I want her to get off (the bike). You see, on a Monster it seems that the cupcake ends up riding your back while your man parts ride the tank. Ouch!  So, I've owned my 620 for a year and she never ever wants to ride cupcake on the Monster. Lucky me, I hate riding 2 up.

I run about 190 with a 120 passenger on my 695 and it works out just fine.  (although I did do a fork upgrade) As was said, be mindful of braking and corners.  Make sure you tell her not to wiggle around and if she can put her hand(s) against the tank when you are braking it helps keep the weight off of your back which can get tiring. 

Just take it easy till you get accustomed to the extra weight and what it's donig to the bike.  As your pasenger gets better you can start to ride a little harder.

Never been a problem. Infact, my 03 620 handles a 2up ride really well. My sweetheart will agree with the cupcake issue but more towards the fact that the rear seat it NOT comfortable for very long for a passenger - it tends to give you Monster Butt. I've not had a problem with getting pushed up against the tank though - she usually braces herself by putting her arms around me and her hands on the tank.

Jammen used to attempt to drag knee with his passenger on his 620. They were quite fast on that bike.

yeah thanks folks, was just curious.  only because i know that when i put 40lbs combined in saddlebags i already can feel a difference when braking and turning, so i can only imagine what 120-130 extra feels like.

i like the one comment about one person saying they would be killed if the significant other knew they mentioned their weight, that was funny.

yeah that passenger seat on the monster looks downright uncomfortable since its the size of a postage stamp that person better have a small derrier.

Another whack at the fast-expiring horse: we've had to ride the M600 two up a couple of times thanks to a crapped-out regulator on the ST2 that left it dead in the middle of noplace, and it's done just fine. Low on comfort, but plenty of juice to pass Harleys at will, up a pretty good grade.

I've had > 280 lbs combined weight on a Ninja 250 and > 340 lbs on an M695 (including gear) weighted to the rear (which is not ideal).  You'll be fine.
