I've got two words for you: Solo Seat!  Cheesy

I dislike taking passengers.
That said, I've ridden 2-up on a few different 400cc Hondas over the years (one a '70's 400-4 many moons ago, and the other my beloved CB-1)
It's doable. And my passengers have always had at least 50lbs on me....

I know it's already been written here, but to re-emphasize... Braking will take longer. Over-estimate until you are comfortable with it!

If your passenger has never been on a bike before have a little chat with them before ya'll get on the bike:
Remind them to lean with you, not opposite you. Ask them to please not wiggle around too much (I had a passenger once who was so twitchy the bike was handling with difficulty. grr.)

yeah.
But still... Solo Seat.

I've done plenty of 2 up riding on my 620.  You will feel the difference far more in hadling then in accelleration.  Turning up the preload on the rear shock would be a good idea.

- 2 up with a  skinny girl, I did not even know she was still on the bike  ( 170lbs + 100lbs )

- 2 up with a short but chunky girl, after a few miles ride and being slapped against the tank, I had to stop the bike and pray that my boys were not out of service.  I am sorry but I can only take skinny ladies from now on.  ( 170lbs + ~ 160lbs )

Bike handled it ok.  But then I was riding a very chill ride with passenger ( ~ 40mph max)

Personally, I don't like having passenger.  I just don't like having the responsibility for someone else life.
