What's goin' on with those forks?

Looks like a different style of front brake rotor, too.  Carbon-ceramic?  Last year's rotor looked a bit different.

GP09 pic, for comparison:

Doesn't look any different to me. Just a slightly different routing of lines and the travel measurement thing is out of whack.

...and the travel measurement thing is out of whack.

i think that's just a reflection of the front stand.

So basically, it looks normal. If you can call a $20K front end "normal"

Are the forks really more than $20K? (I'm not counting the wheels, brakes, etc.)  Shocked

And on closer examination it does look like they've changed the "remote" reservoir somewhat. It appears to be much smaller, and mounted horizontally, rather than in parallel with the fork tubes.

they're probably using a similar part to yamaha (with the internal reservoir).

Didn't the Showas on the Honda bikes have a similar set-up?

So, if this is what Yamaha had last year (and we know Rossi gets the premium Ohlin's stuff first) I wonder what the new Yammy will have this year.

Or this could be a set of 'junk' forks they clanked on just to hold the front end up.
