Planning on riding round/through Mt Macedon. Having lunch at Top of the Range cafe.  On Saturday 9th Jan.

Any takers?

Rob.  I will be leaving from the CBD.  Where would be a suitable meeting place your end?  Diggers rest? Sunbury? About 10am ish?

Do you have/can you make a map of the area? I think you may know the roads there better than me.  I want to be heading through Woodend-Daylesford to get home to avoid the freeway.

Yep, put me down as a definate maybe. The only reason I won't go for a ride is if the builder gives me a weekend task. I'm moving rocks this weekend Sad

Mt Macedon to Dalesford is a nice relaxing ride. Did it in the wet on a 14 degree day last time, so I'm expecting better weather in Jan!!!

Is it worthwhile going the backroads, Tullamarine Fwy to Riddells Creek and across to New Gisbon? I know you have an aversion to highways.

You know me - minor roads always get my vote.  waytogo.  Although not sure Tulla fwy fits my back road critiera  Huh?
I was just trying to come up with a suitable spot to meet up with Ducmeister so he doesn't have to come down to the city.  Your suggestion still fits that idea and I'm not sure I could avoid either the tulla or calder fwys anyway.

I can recommend Mt Macedon to Daylesford - very nice ride.  [moto]

So we now have 3 riders.   applause

Hmm,  I'm not real good with online map stuff  Huh? bang head but how does this sound?

Whittlesea, Flowerdale, Strath Creek, Broadford, Lancefield (main roads or back roads), Cobaw, Newham, Mt Macedon.

or

Whittlesea, Wallan, Romsey, Hesket, Mt Macedon.

Getting to Whittlesea from the city is not too difficult but there is no direct freeway or anything.  Just depends on how much time you want to spend getting to the Mount.

Do you mean something like this:

I just drew in the main roads as I don't know the back roads.  I think that would be a good little ride before lunch. Then on to Daylesford after lunch via Woodend for me and anybody else that wants to.

I'll be able to get there pretty easy by travelling up Plenty Road.

Happy New Year to you too JC. Nice to see you're still riding.  Anybody got any ideas?  I'd say we'll probably meet up in Whittlesea about 10am ish. Ducmeister is north city so that'll suit him.  I'll be starting out from Princes Park area. Dos? Spider?

Ducmeister do you have a meeting place in mind? Servo - coffee shop perhaps?

Hmmm, last coffee shop I went to out there was atrocious.  coffee vomit

I guess we could meet opposite the Royal Mail Hotel.  There's room to park there and there's a servo just up the road.
Check the link http://www.gdaypubs.com.au/VIC/whittlesea.html#royal_mail_hotel for details.

10am sounds fine.  looks like I'll get a sleep in. Grin

Nice little ride as per the map on previous post.  Got some more of us together riding at last.
We had, Me, Ducmeister, Spider, DosVerde and Nibor.  We really should do this more often.
Sorry only took this photo.  We're all camera shy.  Roll Eyes
