I bumped into the Ride for Kids (they raise $ for kids with brain tumors) booth at the Seattle IMS earlier in the month.  I was thinking about it and jumped in the net to check into it some more last night.  That's when I found this guy who is trying to raise $318 a day for $318 for Ride for Kids.

Don't think he has a clue as to how challenging it's going to be but I applaud his efforts.

I applaud the cause but the whole...."I'm only posting here because I want your money" aspect rubs me the wrong way.


That and I don't know who the f*ck this guy is, so I'm just going to assume scam. If Statler said he was raising money? Sure. Someone I don't know? Nope, sorry.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

While I disagree with how this was posted, I thought I would provide more info.

This guy used to be a member here and on the old board under a different name (no, its not Mother). He's put forth efforts to raise money for the Elsie May Ride as well, which raises money for a local hospital's brain institute. Everything is legit and the money is going to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

That's cool and all if he is legit but why is he posting up like it's not him he is talking about? That's not legit.

Sorry, I've been writing lots of press releases lately and the instruction is to write them in 3rd person.

It is legit.  You can contact the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and ask.  I had to get approved 1st.
