I have a few programs that put up quite a fuss in windows 7 but I can attach to gmail emails and photofukit works for me.  [roll] I've also got a lovely BSoD that pops up randomly maybe once a week.

I'm using the student 64bit upgrade they had for $30. Dang thing wouldn't let me d/l the ISO that I needed at first so I had to format, install XP Pro 64bit (had been running xp32bit), and then do the "upgrade".

To be fair the laptop I got that came with 7 Home is working fine and doesn't have as many problems as my desktop. I think it comes with 7 64bit Home but I could be wrong.

If you want a real easy fix, you could always just buy a Mac.  That's what I did.  Now I get to sit back and watch everyone else complain about the inoperability of their computers.., It's fun.

Lets not go there...thats as productive as opening a thread talking about the stimulus package.

I'm not trendy enough for a mac, and as you can see I can't even get my PC to work right...  [laugh]

Dunno why, is screwy all over too.  I had to use the old version of gmail to upload/attach files.  My wireless printer needed drivers downloaded, so thats fixed.  Photobucket doesn't hang, it just doesn't show the progress bar...and since I upload a lot of pics at once I thought it was hanging up.  It's workable, I just open a new tab and leave it alone till it's done.

Can't figure out why my 10k rpm hard drive (sata 3gb/s) is only ranking a 5.3.  Hell, my buddy has a raid 0 array and it's only 5.5!  Prolly have to upgrade to a SSD in the next few months anyway as many blurays as I'm collecting.

sounds like an IE issue and not a windows issue.

you're collecting blue rays so you'll have to upgrade to a smaller, more expensive (albeit faster) storage media?  ???

+1

While we're at it we can discuss Coke vs. Pepsi, M-16 vs. AK-47, Ford vs. Chevy, punk vs. metal, and Ginger vs. Mary Ann...

Myself, I'm still running XP Pro, and dual-booting into Ubuntu when I feel the urge.

But I put Windows 7 on both the new computers I built for my parents, and aside from them not knowing how to do things because they don't work like they did on XP, they've had no problems. No BSoD's or other failures that I've been made aware of. Both machines are clean installs on fresh drives.
