i am a firm believer in the KISS way of design...Keep It Simple S****d....usually has more impact IMO

I generally agree with you. Red paint with a pinstripe over CF weave... Fairly classic. I also have faith in ducpainter's ability to execute these photochops in a sensible, attractive way. And to air concerns if he thinks it looks like shit.

You will have achieved for $25.00 a look that Ducati calls the Multistrada  laughingdp and also you will have deterred potential theft.

I generally agree with you, too. Looking forward to seeing the new Multi in person, though.

It'll be great to let some CF show through ... one great use of it was on the Honda NR750:

The words "NR" logo etc are actually CF bits unpainted.

Cheers

The neimen marcus edition hypers at AMS look similar (tricolors) and its a really nice scheme. They also had the subframe powdercoated to match along with a few other odds and ends. Really tastefully done in the end.

I got to say so far your is the best...with the hugger left plain ole carbon fiber. I think with no red it will sort of disapear until you are really looking and then it one of those parts that really doesnot to be carbon...but it is! waytogo I love how the Ducati on the tank is just unpainted carbon...very clean! I like a red subframe also...or if you really want to get sill do the warm bronze frame and wheels like a 95 monster!!!! Anything you do will be awesome! Good luck!

flat black the bike itself and Ducati red the wheels

It's not flat black, it's 'suede'.  With white walls of course.  And maybe some minimal red/white pinstriping.  I mean, if you're going rat rod do it right.  Does Pirelli make white walls? Tongue

Update: Gone are the pinstripes. Red and CF, a classic "R" setup Wink

I was told the pinstripe would be quite expensive... and I wasn't crazy about it in the first place.

Parts arrive (FINALLY) on friday or saturday. Shipped to ducpainter next week.

Just a matter of gettin' through the mail and my bumble-prone mounting process.
