August 29th 2010, MotoGP in Indianapolis, Indiana.  I've never been to a race before and the track is less than three hours from where I live.  I think it might be interesting to go, and was wondering if anyone else had plans?

A group of us will be riding up from Charleston for the third year in a row.  Would love to add to the convoy along the way  [moto]

Taft, its worth spending all day Wed. in the mountains.  Our Wed. night stay over is my sisters house in Bristol, TN.  Then 8hrs of mountain twisties through VA and KY, ending up in Indy at about 10pm.  Hell of a lot of fun riding up there, and you should really experience Fri. practice, get to know the track/Ducati Island, and experience the night life. chug

Have you guys bought tickets yet?  Hotel or camping?  I'm at Fort Knox near Elizabethtown, Ky.  I have to talk the wife into this but I really want to go.

Heck, if there is room for one more, I'm in Smiley  I'm sure I can secure a bed in TN somewhere if need be, meet up for bkfast, and ride.

3 of us drove up from Louisville, KY last year.  Last year we stayed in Carmel... about 20 min from the track.  We had a suite that ended up costing each of us $75 for the weekend.

It's a great time at the track.  If you plan ahead, you can do it in near luxury.  Sat at the track we had ruebens from Shapiro's (best deli in Indy), a nap in the sun, an espresso at Ducat Island, and a great time watching the practice sessions.

It's worth checking out the flat track races if you can.  It's a whole different kind of racing.

Will definately be going backup this year !

I live fifteen minutes from the track, and will be going for a third time this summer. This event is pretty much the highlight of the year (besides Antique bike week at Mid-Ohio), kinda like Christmas in August.  The practice and time trials are possibly more exciting than the race itself.  All of that takes a back seat to the marquee event, which is walking through the parking lot and staring at the tens of thousands of bikes ridden in each day.

I may have people camping in my yard this year, I'll be sure to post this summer to let people know.

There will be two of us heading from Valdosta, GA.  Leaving Wed prior and getting to the track Thurs evening.  Plan is similiar to 2008...I-75 to Atlanta then backroads to southern Indiana.  Hitting the Tail of the Dragon on the way home.  Camping in the huge field across from the track (note to self-buy new tent since hurricane destroyed old one in 2008...).  The camping is awesome, great parties and stumbling distance from the track!

My brother, dad, and I are trying to decide between Indy and Laguna Seca.  Not sure yet which way to go, but we might be there. Smiley

The past two years I kept telling myself I would go, but each year I had just wrecked my bike.  So, I couldn't stomach going and seeing all the goodies in person.
