Does my bum look big on this?

« Reply #240 on: April 12, 2010, 04:23:09 PM »

Can I just say now that I hate you all.  I was quite content until the weekend with my nice little stock 695.  Sure, the seat really wanted to come up a little, and the front end's a tad soft.

But now I've spent all my spare time over the last two days looking at frigging bling on the intertubes.  Oooh, some Pazzo levers like Kaz has would be nice, and Heather's bar end mirrors are the duck's guts.  And that Sargent seat...  How about some new bars, after all mine have some little rust spots, and I can convince myself they're a tad high?  Rizoma or Suburban Machinery?  Gee, monsters look nice wit a tail chop...

Aaargh!  You're all evil, I tell yas.  Evil!

Yes. Those of us who vow to "Never Bling" should know better and eat our words.  Roll Eyes

Like I say, "There is always something"!  Grin

And....nothing like a group ride to get lots of ideas.  [moto]

Ha ha.  Evil

I remember a time when I was adamant that I would not bling my bike and I was very happy with it until I met up with other Monsters and their bling.  bang head

Ohhhhh Suzyj,

Bling begins with your first OzMo's ride!
I remember mine fondly, it was a wee little ride out to Bathurst.
I pedaled my stock little 620 pretty hard that day, I was Signora always playing catch up.

That day the bling bug bit and look at me now.........

Sorry gang, lessons learnt...
...as previous, apologies for all the concern caused. It wasn't till in Sydney peak traffic that we first heard the phone and we weren't in a safe position to answer when we heard it. By that stage we were close to our destination (petrol station) so that is when we made our first call. At first I thought no one had my number nor did I have any one elses, but little did I realise, Matty did.
Being part of the old DML crew means that this was my first group ride with any of you (i know hard to beleive!!)...

Again sorry for the concern caused, and likewise I would have started thinking the worst. Its easy to say now, but I now it wouldn't have been an easy position to be in for all of you.

How we separated so easily I'm not sure?? We were following a part of the pack, but got caught in cage traffic back up the mountain. Bikes just kept passing us & with a pillion I simply wont push past cars, (think about the other person on).
So then we slowed at every intersection looking for others, didn't find anyone and eventually had to join into the high-way once Jukie knew were we where.
Again the only spot we knew people would eventually be at was Pheasants nest, no one there, but again we guessed wrong and thought we were still behind. No excuse for not checking my phone, just trying to bring clarity to it all.

Chris, don't stress too much over it. The main thing is that you guys are OK. You have got to expect that with so many people on a group ride that things like this can happen. You did not see a corner marker and you kept going. Not really your fault. You were trying to keep you and your pillion safe. All is good.  waytogo
I am sure that I speak for everyone in saying that it was a fantastic day.

So why don't we do this for the next group ride then.

In early June, traditional 1st or 2nd Saturday depending on long weekend double demerit points extra.

There was one little dirt hill but I think there is a way to do it without that little little bit.
And there was a small amount of road works finishing one section but I'd say this would be gone by June.

Route looks good, Putty *and* Bells in a single trip, + Big Iain' Secret Road of Joy.  I'm in.

10 ish hours riding though, not for the feint hearted.. We'll have to make sure we don't dawdle and manage our stops well. Or lose Jukie.  Grin
